Mumbai, May 15 2011. The India Shopping Centre Forum (ISCF) 2011 couldn’t have ended up on a better note than the emergence of Entertainment World Developers Limited as number one choice of retailers. The 2-day conference-exhibition-award function organized by IMAGES Group on May 13 & 14 commenced with the inaugural address by Jayant Kochar, Director & CEO, IMAGES Group. Kochar laid emphasis on creating a knowledge platform for retailers and developers to drive growth in the retail industry. “The India Shopping Centre Forum 2011 is not only about exchanging ideas but also about incorporating these ideas to contribute to the economic and social growth of the country. Success of conference lies in translating these thoughts and ideas into actions,” said Kochar in his address.

A highly-engaging workshop on Mall Management was also organized. The workshop discussed ways to differentiate a mall from existing market and the role of managers in commercial success of the shopping mall.

Awards night was organized amidst flashing lights and fun-fare at evening hours on May 13 2011. Treasure Island, Indore the leading shopping mall of EWDL was awarded with ‘India’s Most Admired Shopping Mall by Retailers Choice’.

Arif Sheikh, Executive Director, EWDL received the awards trophy. ‘Trust plays a major role in revenue sharing model’, said Sheikh in his presentation on ‘Innovation and Indian way of Managing Shopping Malls’.

Audience gave standing ovation to Sheikh after his power-packed presentation on the stage of Image Shopping Centre Awards 2011. It’s the first time in history of ISCA that standing ovation has been given to a speaker.

Conference along with awards function remained extremely successful with warm response from entire retail industry. Participants expressed hope that the challenges like differential tax rates, unplanned growth in cities, unavailability of government land etc will be resolved in the coming years as the retail sector comes on fast-track growth.
